Jan has always felt a call to work with children and is blessed to be a part of the spiritual journey of the children here at St. James. She is excited to create meaningful worship opportunities to share God’s love.

Jan grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. While at Clarion, Jan met her husband, David. Following graduation they moved to Summerville, SC where she taught students in kindergarten, second, third, and fourth grades. After twelve years of teaching, she took some time to stay home to be with their five children.

The Rhodes family moved to the Greenville area in 2008. When their youngest was in school, Jan joined the staff at St. Peter’s Greenville as their children and family’s ministry coordinator. Along with her education degree, Jan also holds a basic certificate in American Sign Language interpreting. Jan enjoys singing, crocheting, sewing, and being outside in God’s beautiful creation.
