YOUTH MUSIC MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

St. James is proud of its student musicians! Bring your children and let them become active participants in worship. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn music and share it with others. For more information, contact Dr. Karen Eshelman by email or phone message at the church .

NEW CHILDREN'S MUSIC SCHEDULE (April 2006)

All children ages 3-5 now begin their 10:00 AM Sunday class in the large classroom with Music Time, instead of meeting after church for Children's Choir. Parents, when you bring your children to class, take them to the "music corner" to greet Ms. Cindy, who is leading the music. This is a general music activity for ALL children ages 3-5, not just those who were in children's choir. (After music time, the 3-year-olds will be escorted to their regular Twos and Threes classroom.)

St. James Choristers (RSCM Choir)

For children who are readers, and who can match pitch. The Choristers use training materials from the Royal School of Church Music. This group occasionally sings with the Children’s Choir and also the Adult Choir. Rehearsal times TBA.

New handbell groups

Anyone from first grade on up can learn to ring! This is an intergenerational activity, so come with someone else in your family. Rehearsal times will be negotiated with interested handbell ringers.

Instrumentalists

Many and varying opportunities for instrumentalists, including students studying by the Suzuki method. You may discuss your desire to play with Karen, and your contribution will be worked into the music planning.

St. James Choir

High school students are encouraged to join the St. James choir, which rehearses Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Contact Dr. Eshelman for more information.

• People to guide children from place to place, before and after singing...
• Parents to participate with children during rehearsals...
Please see the Choir bulletin board in the hallway to sign up or contact Karen.
